On November 15, 1889, the Brazilian Monarchy was overthrown and
a republic was formed. Benjamin Constant taught republican believes such as abolition
of slavery. Some other changes were separation of church and state, civil
marriage, and abolished titles of nobility.
Who knows where Brazil would be without the formation of the republic? Benjamin Constant was a great teacher.
